This site has been set up by Tom Magnusson and Lionel Peters to seek out and preserve the History of Junior and Youth Athletics. At present we are compiling complete results of World and Continental Championships.

THE EDITORS

TOMAS MAGNUSSON
Tom is a professional data and market analyst that works a lot with huge databases He lives and works in Solothurn (SUI) but was born in Sweden and lived there until 1996.His first memory of seeing a big championship on the television was the ECh-82 in Athens and the first championship that he attended (as spectator) was WCh-95 in Gothenburg. Tom has a database that contains all major world and continental championships for all age groups (except masters). At the moment the database contains almost 400.000 (main) performances and about 95.000 athletes. He has assisted in compiling statistics for the IAAF Championship Handbooks since 2002 and helped the local organizing committees WCh-05 and ECh-06 on site. He is also a member of the ATFS and runs a webpage which aim is to compile the complete results of the World Cross Country Championships 1903 until present


LIONEL PETERS
Lionel has been interested in athletics since the late 1940's and in junior athletics since he found a junior list in the 1961 ATFS annual. He founded, edited and published World Junior Athletics News 1994-2001 ( Amonthly  newsletter, devoted to international and national junior results and statistics). Following illness he stopped publication of it and set up World Junior Athletics News Online at www.wjan.org He has written 25 Junior and Youth Annuals and Handbooks. Lionel was IAAF statistician at the World Junior Championships in Sydney in 1996. He is in the process of writing a history of junior athletics and is a member of the Association of Track and Field Statisticians (ATFS), National Union of Track and field Statisticians (NUTS). Sports Writers Association of Great Britain (SWA) and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) the British Athletic Writers Association (BAWA)
